Networking is the 'life force' of interim executives. Whether your 'route to market' is via other interims, providers or through previous employers, past clients, people you know or come into contact with, or people they know, the ability to network and to manage that network effectively are key skills of your trade.
The API offers members the opportunity to both learn and benefit from these skills in a variety of ways, including bi-monthly networking evenings in London, and increasingly other events throughout the UK.
Our London events are always held in central London between 6.30pm to 8.30pm over a glass of wine (or two!) and canape's. In addition to meeting and greeting a variety of like-minded interims and providers, these events also feature a central presentation on a range of topical and relevant subjects.
Venue: Currently all of our London events are held at the CCT venue next to Barbican tube station. Full address details are available at the point of registration.
2011 Regional Events:
Please contact the relevant listed API representative if you would like to get involved at a local level. Where there is no current representative listed, please contact info@APInterims.com if you would like to be considered for this role. For a list of your regional representatives, please click here.
A key part of our strategy is to facilitate a closer interface between members and clients. That is one reason why the API is a full trade member of the CBI.
We are introducing regional representatives for the API across the country to develop our local interaction with the CBI and its members. We attend key regional networking events, including Chairman's dinners, wherever possible and our Regional representatives have a clear role to raise the profile of our members in their respective areas. They will also be developing local networking evenings to encourage sharing of best practice and the fostering of mutually-beneficial relationships among API members and between API members and clients.
Networking Events
Purpose:
To meet each other as members of the Association periodically, to discuss business issues of the day and matters of interest, to meet providers, and to benefit from speakers on topical industry subjects.
We hold regular events in London (at least every second month). Events are run on a Wednesday evening from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and are highly sought after. It is our intent to run Regional meetings as soon as numbers allow
To register and pay for the next event please use our booking system below. Please note that we limit numbers and registration is on a 'first paid' basis..

'This is one of the very best benefits of membership. The opportunity to talk to other interims, to network with a cross-section of providers and, at the same event, to learn from experienced speakers, is of fantastic value. '

Networking Meetings
Mark Hewerdine Managing Director, Management Away Limited
'I have found the networking meetings a great way to get a feel for what is going on in the market generally and to keep in touch with the interim agencies as well as colleagues, I would not otherwise meet on a regular basis. The Association of Professional Interims is worth every penny of its membership fee as far as I am concerned and then some.'
