An on-going campaign of cooperation will include attendance at private CBI networking events.

PCG
A vital voice for changeWe have joined the PCG as an affiliate member in order to improve the strength of the voice of interims on legislative issues that may directly impact our collective or individual service provision.
As an ally, the PCG also gives us additional weight within the CBI, and independently improves awareness in the marketplace of our expertise, as top-end freelancers. We hope and expect to continue to strengthen our relationship in many practical ways over the coming year.

API Member Testimonials
"In addition to truly excellent savings on my public liability and professional indemnity insurance which more than paid for my membership fee, I have also found the networking meetings a great way to get a feel for what is going on in the market generally and to keep in touch with the interim agencies as well as colleagues, I would not otherwise meet on a regular basis. The Association of Professional Interims is worth every penny of its membership fee as far as I am concerned and then some."
Mark Hewerdine, Managing Director, Management Away Limited
"Taking the decision to pursue a career as an interim is a big step and it was very reassuring to network with both those attending and running the ‘new starter’ course. I still refer to the notes that I took when I attended the excellent Induction workshop of 19th May 2009 and I was genuinely touched by the support given afterwards by the Association of Professional Interims. I'm just coming to the end of my first big interim assignment as HR Director with the Danone Group and (so far) the life of an interim has proved to be extremely rewarding in many ways. "
Mark R. Evans, Interim HR Director
"Your 'Who do you want to meet?' Campaign to give us priority access to providers really works! It's brilliant! It supports and promotes the talents of API members, as well as providing an opportunity for Members to jump the queue in what I am finding is still a very difficult market. I originally contacted six of the providers listed on the Members' section of the website and all responded within the promised 48 hrs. Thank you!"
Keith Baker, Baker Services Limited
"It's great to have providers listed in one place with a little explanation as to what they specialise in; saves trolling through a number of sites! Good idea also to have the name and title of the senior person who will speak to you"
Susan R (Associate member)
"My company Public Liability and Professional Indemnity came up for renewal @ £1600+ Having joined the API, I was astounded to be offered a better package for less than half the former provider had quoted. This more than paid for my membership."
Mark Hewerdine,Managing Director, Management Away Limited
"I am not normally given to spending hours searching the internet for a deal that will save me a few pounds. However, I recently learnt that the API had secured great deals for Professional Indemnity Insurance with a new insurance company HCC, along with a bespoke website/quotation process. Having aroused my curiosity I went on-line to try it out. I’m delighted that I did, as it saved me £118! When good news seems in short supply, all I can say is, see for yourself - you could save yourself money too!"
Charmian Todd MSc, FIPD, MIMA.
"I attended the API Induction and Marketing Workshop and found it absolutely invaluable at the start of my career as an interim. Not only did it equip me with the essential skill set of an interim, it also gave me the confidence and, subsequently, the support network, to succeed in the interim market."
Mark R. Evans, Interim HR Director
API Client Testimonials
"Adrian Brooks is managing director of a UK based family business, Litestructures Ltd, one of the world’s largest designers and manufactures of staging solutions for global entertainment and sporting events. As the company entered a critical phase in its development, a fundamental restructuring of where and how products would be manufactured, Adrian engaged an experienced professional interim executive to help manage the complex transition.
In Romania, the chosen country for our mass manufacturing plant, Peter put in place an effective set of processes to manufacture high quality aluminium fabrications to short timescales. Making such a thing happen requires seriously accomplished management of all of the available resources, especially difficult in a rapidly developing overseas country."
Adrian Brooks ,Managing Director, Litestructures Ltd
"Embarking on a new strategy often means that a company doesn’t possess the quality of management required in house, and so outsourcing this resource is often the only way to help the company navigate its way through the difficult process. Using such proven expertise is something we do again, immediately the need arises"
"The Coca-Cola-Company (TCCC) has chosen SAP as its strategic e-business platform and to support us streamlining TCCC’s global back office processes. Jens has managed the Change Management work stream of this business transformation programme which included the re-design of some 500+ business processes and the management of 80 change agents and trainers to support 20,000 end users in 12 different countries and 10 languages.
Jens quickly adjusted to the different cultures and the large scale of this project, sometimes travelling 4 countries and 3 continents in a single week. His passion about his work and ability to motivate everybody who works for and with him ensured that this programme was delivered on time and to budget."
Ann Burville, Programme Director, The Coca-Cola-Company
"As Sales & Marketing Director at private equity backed Egbert H Taylor, I appointed an interim finance specialist, David Butcher, to help set up our ground-breaking container rental business. David brought over 30 years of pan-European experience and an entire set of skills that was absent from our business.
An initial six months of interim work, with occasional support thereafter, added £2M of new business to our £25m turnover, and at high contribution. It also changed our relationship with customers from a one-off transaction to a recurring service relationship."
Dr Terry Summers
"In an (anonymous) company undergoing transition from a family owned business to a professionally managed one, we experienced turnover in the management team. Interim purchasing and operations management (3-6 months duration) was able to fill gaps immediately and to up the pace of the business to help the transition process.
In developing new strategy and new markets, we engaged an interim strategy advisor and an advertising media expert. Their ability to hit the ground running at full speed meant we could complete projects on the short timetable the board was looking for (3 months in both cases), which would have been impossible by other means."
Dr Terry Summers
"We used David in his capacity as a professional interim to facilitate his 'NOW to NEW' process and change methodology in an expertly designed week where our 'Design Team' (chosen, on his advice from 'front-line' subject matter experts; all of whom were volunteers) went through a series of structured steps to first understand and agree on what was currently taking place with our UK Retail Lab operations, and then to re-think and re-design the process so that the disconnects that had been present were all eliminated.
In fact, the re-design went much further. It quickly evolved into us thinking about 'what process would put the competition out of business if it were in place today?; and how could we deliver that?' We think we now have the 'blue-print' for such a process!
In addition we were able to 'design-in' appropriate metrics through-out the process to 'warn' of early deviations and allow us the options to correct before they impacted adversely on the customer. We also built-in roles and responsibilities, a communication plan (to bring the rest of the operation up-to-speed) and put together a Presentation of recommendations for approval by our Senior Management Team. We like David’s understanding of our issues and needs, his speed of response and in particular the fast ‘pay-back’ of his approach and methodology. "
